One Lost Laptop Can Cost a Project
Interactive installations depend on source code, models, media and settings. If those live only on one computer, a failure or departure can mean starting again.
Good Practice
These habits protect both supplier and client. They are part of how we run our installation projects.
- Version control — every change recorded and reversible
- Remote repositories — code stored off the developer's machine
- Regular backups — separate copies of large media and builds
- Tagged releases — know exactly what is installed on site
- Recovery drills — test that a backup really restores

Keep a Master Copy of the Installed Build
The exact software on site should be saved, together with settings and licences. This allows fast replacement after hardware failure.
Ask for Access at Handover
Clients should receive or have access to their project files, in line with the agreement. Agencies can request a handover package via our partnership programme.
