The Site Survey Checklist for Interactive Installations: What to Check Before You Quote

Most Surprises Come From the Site

Power in the wrong place, a lift that is too small or a ceiling that cannot take the load can wreck a project plan. A proper site survey, in person or from good photographs and drawings, prevents most of these problems.

What to Check

This is the list we work through before scoping with agencies through our partnership service.

  • Power — supply type, capacity and distance from the install point
  • Network — wired, wifi and mobile signal strength
  • Access — doors, lifts, stairs and loading routes for equipment
  • Structure — floor loading, rigging points and fixing surfaces
  • Light — daylight, spotlights and glare on screens and sensors

Rules and Restrictions

Venues often have rules on working hours, noise, insurance, contractor approvals and fire safety. Ask for these early. Outdoor sites bring permissions, weather exposure and public access to plan around.

Take photographs and measurements, then record who gave you each answer.

Share the Results

Put findings into a short document that designers, fabricators and installers all use. A common record saves arguments later. Our installation team can survey with you or work from your photos, whichever suits the project.
