Start With the Objective
Many AR and VR projects are judged on downloads or impressions because those are easy to count. The better question is what the experience was meant to change: sales, enquiries, training outcomes or understanding. Set that before building, not after.
Metrics Worth Tracking
Good measurement is designed into the build. Across our AR and VR work, these are the figures we find most useful.
- Completion rate — how many users finish the experience
- Dwell time — time spent, in context with the content length
- Action rate — enquiries, bookings or purchases that follow
- Return use — people who come back or share it
- Training results — assessment scores or error rates before and after

Be Careful With Comparisons
Attribution is rarely perfect. A campaign may run alongside other marketing, so use control groups, time-based comparisons or unique links where possible. Be honest about what the data does and does not prove.
Small sample sizes at one-day events call for caution before drawing wide conclusions.
Plan Measurement Early
Analytics should be agreed in the brief, with privacy handled properly. We help agencies plan this at the start through our partnership process so reporting after launch is meaningful rather than a scramble.
