Electronics Make Heat
Screens, computers and power supplies all turn some of their energy into heat. When they are boxed into a tight enclosure, a warm hall or direct sunlight, that heat has nowhere to go and equipment slows or shuts down.
Design for Airflow
Heat problems are much cheaper to prevent than to fix on site. We consider airflow at the start of each installation design.
- Ventilation gaps — openings where cool air enters and warm air leaves
- Fans and filters — moving air without letting in dust
- Space around equipment — not packing devices against each other
- Temperature ratings — checking kit is rated for the expected conditions
- Shade — keeping displays and enclosures out of direct sun

Monitor and Test
Run equipment for several hours in a realistic setup before the event. Simple temperature monitoring can warn staff before a shutdown, and remote alerts help on longer projects.
Plan for the Worst Day
Consider the hottest realistic conditions, including a crowded hall. If the installation cannot cope, a simpler enclosure or a lower-power computer may be the better choice. Agencies can discuss this via our partnership programme.
