Plans Are Hard to Read
Drawings and elevations make sense to professionals, but many residents struggle to picture what a building or road scheme will really look like. Clear visuals lead to better-informed feedback.
Tools for Visualisation
Each tool answers a different question, and many projects use a combination. We provide these through our AR and exhibition services.
- Physical or 3D-printed models — a tactile overview of the site
- On-screen 3D — rotate and zoom around the proposal
- AR on site — hold up a phone and see the proposal in place
- Before and after sliders — compare existing and proposed views
- Walkthroughs — a route through the finished scheme

Be Accurate and Fair
Visualisations influence opinion, so they must reflect the proposal honestly. Show realistic materials, heights and surroundings, and avoid flattering angles or seasons.
Combine With Conversations
Technology supports public meetings but does not replace them. Staff should be available to answer questions and record concerns. Agencies advising developers or councils can contact us via our partnership programme.
