Cables Cause Trouble
Loose cabling is one of the most common causes of trips, damaged equipment and mysterious faults. A neat installation looks more professional and is safer for visitors and staff.
Good Habits
Most problems are avoided by planning routes before the build starts. We follow these habits on every event installation we deliver.
- Plan the route — decide where every cable runs before unpacking
- Keep cables off walkways — route them behind or above where possible
- Use proper covers — ramped protectors where crossing is unavoidable
- Label both ends — so faults are quick to trace
- Separate power and data — to reduce interference and confusion

Think About Visitors Too
Children, wheelchair users and people carrying bags are all affected by cables on the floor. Raise equipment, use cable trays and keep a clear route through the whole installation.
Check Before Doors Open
Walk the space as a visitor would. Tape down anything that moves and ask the venue about their rules. This is general information, so follow the guidance of your venue and a qualified event safety adviser. For client-facing agencies, see our partnership programme.
